Lip Service

If you’re heading to Whistler this weekend to take advantage of the snowiest month ever protect your lips to avoid chapping and sunburn.

The cell structure in your lips is different than the rest of your face. You may notice your lips are especially dry and vulnerable to cold weather at this time of the year. To help with this apply an emollient lip balm durning the day and at night before bed to help your lips stay soft.

When looking for a high quality lip balm look for products with the following ingredients:

* a minimum spf 15

* beeswax

* hemp oil, olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil or coconut oil

* pure shea butter

* vitamin e

Avoid products with ingredients listed such as: Parabens, Phthalates, Sulfates, Propylene Glycol, Artificial Dyes, and Fragrances. Three other ingredients to avoid on the list are: Dimethicone, Petrolatum (skin irritant and clogs pores)

Protect your lips and use them wisely this winter. (wink, wink)

Enjoy a great weekend!
